Green Gable Black Gum has beautiful glossy-green leaves in summer and an explosion of scarlet-red fall color. Its pyramidal growth and uniform branching habit make it a great street or shade tree. This tree can take soil anywhere from average to wet conditions, slightly acidic, and can adapt to poorly drained soil. Black Gums are an excellent choice to support wildlife in the landscape, especially bees that seek out its nectar.
